An accreditation status granted by the Green Climate Fund (GCF) to subnational, national, or regional institutions.
It allows the recipient country to:
- access and directly manage international financial resources from the GCF;
- implement climate projects without relying on multilateral intermediaries;
- strengthen and make use of its own national public financial management systems.
The accreditation process sustainably supports country ownership and climate governance under strict fiduciary standards and accountability frameworks.
