Civic week – webinar on climate action for teachers and educators

Dedicated to the theme “climate action”, the civic week’s main objective is to raise awareness among the educational community about the topic, increasing Cape Verdean society’s low perception of the causes and consequences of climate change, as well as actions and programs carried out by the Government and society to face the ever-increasing challenges of risks to biodiversity and ecosystems, society and the country’s economy.

In order to raise awareness, a set of activities were planned and a range of materials was created to support teachers and educators, monitors and advisors, in the production and dissemination of relevant information about climate action in Cape Verde. One of these resources is “Climate Action AGORA – Webinar for teachers and educators”, produced by the National Directorate of the Environment in partnership with the National Directorate of Education, with the support of Luxembourg Cooperation.

The webinar features the participation of Inês Mourão, technical coordinator of the Climate Action Program; Ethel Fernandes, national director of the Environment; and Maria Helena Andrade, director of the Pedagogical Management, Assessment and Educational Inclusion Service, who provide more information about this activity.
