Cabo Verde presents itself with a “huge potential for the blue economy”, which could come to fruition soon, with the confirmation of a package worth 240 million euros for the transformation of the Port of Mindelo, in São Vicente, into a “blue port”, which counts, among others, on the cooperation of the GEOMAR Helmholtz Center for Ocean Research Kiel (Germany) in the creation of an international platform for ocean research.

Abraão Vicente, Minister of the Sea and Minister of Culture and Creative Industries of Cabo Verde, shared what he considers to be one of the projects that makes Cabo Verde an “exemplary island state”, for Africa and the world, with the capacity to transform the climate change problems into opportunities.
