The Climate and Environmental Fund was presented in the city of Praia to diplomatic missions, international and regional organizations. The fund is an instrument that will allow for greater mobilization of resources, as well as helping in their efficient use for the country’s climate action.

According to the Minister of Agriculture and Environment, Gilberto Silva, the Climate Fund is an instrument that will allow consolidating climate governance in the country. “It will be a very relevant institution within the broad framework of environmental governance in Cabo Verde, as it is an instrument that allows not only to mobilize more resources but will help to optimize the country’s efforts not only in mobilization of resources but also their efficient use for governance and climate action in Cabo Verde”.

Gilberto Silva said that work is currently being done on the climate law proposal to be submitted to Parliament, as well as launching the Climate Portal and approving the country’s vulnerability map and the long-term climate strategy.
