The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s main objective is to synthesize and disseminate the most advanced knowledge on climate change. Does not carry out investigation; brings together and summarizes the knowledge produced by independent scientists in reports, such as those relating to guidelines for preparing GHG emission and removal inventories, mitigation and adaptation and other topics. The IPCC received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007.
