Cabo Verde approves national climate change adaptation plan

The Government approved the Cabo Verde National Climate Change Adaptation Plan (Plano Nacional de Adaptação às Mudanças Climáticas de Cabo Verde – NAPCV), aiming to provide the country with an instrument that promotes the identification of a set of actions and adaptation measures that can be implemented.

According to the resolution published today, September 29, in the Official Bulletin, climate change is considered one of the greatest environmental, social and economic threats facing the planet and Humanity nowadays.

According to the same source, the Covid-19 pandemic has exacerbated climate vulnerability in Cabo Verde. “This is because the latter is deeply related to social weaknesses, and the pandemic was yet another way of aggravating and exposing them”.
